Who all is going to practice this weekend?

Anyone know the scoop on the 3-game suspension of Whiteside and Erving?

I had heard something a month ago or so, but forgot...I am thinking it came from cockfather to jacyn to me, though, so one of them can probably tell you.

cf,
scout reporting that Jason Barnes is gonna commit tomorrow to us or the 'holes....what are you thinking, 60/40 us maybe? It seems like things are pretty even in his mind, but the parents like USC more, which gives us the slight edge. you think this one will probably not be over 'till february either?

I am hearing USC...do you have a link?

Anonymous said...

no, no link, but someone mentioned it on TIF, and I didn't see where the information was coming from, and a friend told me that it was on scout. I don't have a scout subscription, so I haven't verified it.

I think the misinformation on Barnes came because a while back he said he wanted to have his decision on August 1st. He never set an announcement time.
On another note......
We really need to get Lecorn and Allen on campus soon. Lecorn is one of my favorite looking prospects. I think he'll be a stud at the next level. Considering Florida hasn't even offered, he's all but a lock imo, we just need to get him here.

It looks like Barquell Rivers is set to commit to Va. Tech soon. They are planning on taking some ridiculous total of kids, close to 30. Since kids don't read this type of board, here's to hoping Va. Tech offers his teammate and current Gamecock commit Michael Bowman. I'm not sold on him, and with us appearing to be ready to take Arkee Smith and Antonio Allen. That means we'll probably take Jeremy Davis as a WR, and not as a safety. I hate the thought of not being able to take a Matt Clement or Dion Lecorn because of numbers when we've got a commitment from Michael Bowman. JMO.

If Bowman is offerd by VT he will go there with Rivers. I agree that would be a plus. Also, according to a very good source, Troy Pollard is a very similar type player to Bowman. The difference there is Bowman doesn't have D-Lo on his team. I'll trade one package deal for another...VT gets Rivers and Bowman, USc gets Pollard and D-Lo...helluva trade...aye?

CF, I believe Pollard can be a quality player, especially in an offense like ours. Lots of similarities between he and Bobby Wallace. I also agree, that the tradeoff is uncomparable. Obviously, you don't want to take Pollard if you can't get D-LO, but only because of numbers. No reason really to take 2 RB's this year unless you've got the opportunity to get: a.) an absolute stud RB(J Dwyer, E Davis or C King) or b.)this RB commit helps you bring in a bigtime player(D-Lo and Pollard).

Getting these two may even help us pull a big shocker and get a Jacoby Monroe or another big time Florida prospect not even on our radar yet.

Cockfather, Do you have any info on Lecorn? We haven't cooled have we?

All indications are that the only hold-up with Lecorn is transportation. I firmly believe that both he and Antonio Allen will commit to USC as soon as they can make the trip up from Ocala. Maybe they can get Kerwin Bell to bring them up on the 12th for the big scrimage.

Cockfather,
You do not have to post on TIF anymore, as long as you keep providing us luckey ones with your info over here.

while I have the utmost respect for Tony, there are so many morons over there that think if information does not come from him it is not true. but the worst thing is that on top of that, they attack anyone who posts anything.
As a donor to the university and someone who cares greatly for the football program, if one of our coaches is not holding up his end of the deal as far as recruiting goes I most certainly want to know about it! I don't understand the people over there who say it is better none of us know anything.
sheep.

That’s the problem with some of our fan base; they accept mediocrity and do not think anyone of our coaches can do wrong. That’s the problem I have with a lot of our fan base, too many times they give a coach a free pass and say oh we will get them next year or he needs time. Screw that and I am tired of hearing those same excuses and I think now we have some one in Spurrier who is not going to put up with this kind of sit on your butt attitude.
