Cockfather Illustrated has learned that DT Stanley Doughty has lost the weight required to return to practice on a full-time basis and will not be required to go through conditioning.
Freshman DT Kenrick Ellis has lost 18 pounds the past two days and is approaching the 325 pound limit to be able to return to practice.
Other updates will be posted as they become available.

Good news. I like Ellis character and desire at this point. Do you have any info on how James Thompson is doing with conditioning?
Thompson is a practice. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised to see Ellis at practice by wednesday. Not sure on Thompson, but he should meet his weight requirement as well.
News on Matt Raysor's weight / progress?
I can't think of a better way to send the message that playing football is a priviledge, not a right. Sure hope they recognize the wisdom in participating in voluntary workouts next summer.
CF Thompson was practicing tonight
matt raysor comes across to me as lazy, looked like a Sunday stroll with him, while ellis was running and walking, raysor was at a snails pace.
Jacyn, that is not surprising. Kenrick Eliis really cares and wants to please the coaches. He wants to be a great player. He has more character than Raysor and Doughty combined.
Reading through some of doughty's comments looks like he has matured a lot. I believe if we can get him and Ellis to contribute between 10-20 snaps a game. That we will be ok on defense. This the fast defense that we have had since 2000 and 2001 seasons. It might even be a little bit faster as far as our linebackers are concerned.
jacyn, I have to disagree. I think for us to be solid on defense, Doughty needs to get his fat ass in shape, and keep it in shape and play starters snaps. I love Nathan Pepper, but he's a true sophomore(shouldn't have played a down last year) and he's not big enough yet to be the guy in the middle opposite a gap guy like Marquee. Doughty needs to get it together.
I think Ellis needs a redshirt year. I haven't been to practice, but I've heard he's too huge and before he gets to a good playing weight for his size(315), we might see him lose a lot of bad weight and get down into the 280 range similar to what happened with Marquee last year. I'll truse Lawing's judgement though, when he says he wants to play him 10+ snaps a game. I think he's got enough talent that he could be gone before he reaches his maximum eligibility anyway, so burning his redshirt ain't that bad of an idea.
I agree that he needs to get in shape, but his comments atleast seem like he has matured a lil bit and realizes that its going to be stevs way or the highway. where as in the past it hasnt always been that way with alot of our players and it is refreshing to see that this attitude among players seems to be changing.
I really don't buy Doughty's remarks. I think he is just being smart. I watched him bitch and complain the first two practices. He also watched a freshman out work him both nights.
Eddy, for our scheme, Pep will be just fine. Sure Doughty makes a big play sometimes, but most of the time he is either out of position or dominated at the LOS by the guy lined up across from him. as for Ellis, he may need to red-shirt, but I can tell you right now that Brad Lawing is not oign to out up with any garbage from Doughty or Raysor. If they don't get with the program, I can see Ellis getting 10-15 snaps per game.
