Dave Odom and the mens basketball program is expected to receive a verbal commitment from 6'4 2G Trevor DeLoach in the coming days. The Saluda High School product has been impressive on the summer AAU circuit, and has picked up offers from Wake Forest and FSU, and is being looked at by several other SEC and ACC programs.
DeLoach would join a 2007 USC recruiting class that includes 6'8 WF Aaron Ellis, 6'7 PF Mike Holmes, and 6'10 PF/C Sam Muldrow. USC is also expected to re-sign Augusta, GA native 6'8 F Austin Steed, who will be attending prep school this fall after failing to meet freshman eligibility requirements.

CockFather, how would rank that class compared to others Odom has signed ?
Do you think that recruiting has picked up ?
I think this is shaping up to be Odoms best class on paper. Assistant Coach Ken Potasnak has headed up Odom's recruiting efforts the past two years, and he has done a great job getting involved with prospects early.
With the addition of PG Devan Downey in 2007-08, I think Odoms teams will becme ultra competitive in the SEC and make it to the NCAA tournament.
CF,
I know you used to be a little down on Odom. And especially his lack of effort/connections with regards to Nike and AAU ball...it seems like the new Coach is pretty tied in with this, do you think that is paying big dividends?
Ken Potasnak is tied in with the AAU scene and he has great relationships with the high school coaches in the state of South Carolina due to his long tenure at both Furman and the Citadel.
